With the obvious signs of spring around, the dairy farmers minds will be turning towards being able to turn out the cows.

Whilst inside, foot problems are more prevalent and footbathing regularly is the norm.
At Ecohoof, we feel that regular footbathing should continue throughout the year, as part of the routine hygiene programme. This will go a long way to reduce foot problems during the winter period.
Also, the walk ways to and from the parlour may need attention to prevent foot injuries and facilitate easy movement to and from milking.
With sheep – during any period of gathering/handling, it is always a good idea to footbath the flock to kill any bacteria on the feet.
